+ What are the startup costs?

After the first meeting (free), we’ll create a checklist of task items of what we’ll need to do to help bring your home to host ready status. Every home will vary in it’s start up costs to insure the guest experience every single stay in your home. Here’s is a rough example of a home start up:

  • Coded door locks, networking, towels, bed sheets, bathroom amenity sets $1200-$1800
  • Professional home photography = $500
  • Initial home deep cleaning = $300
  • Minimum account operational balance = $1,000

+ How often do I get paid?

Owners will receive a check or direct deposit at the end of every month for funds above the initial $1000 deposit.

+ What happens when something breaks down?

We are on it. Our teams are ready 24/7 to fix any issues that may arise during a guest’s stay. We will communicate with you and get your approval for expenses over $300 unless you tell us otherwise.

+ Do you take care of all the guests needs?

Yes, the guest and the guest experience is what it’s all about.

+ What if a guest breaks something in my home?

Each guest pays insurance for their stay. If they break an item, it is covered up to $1000.

+ How much money will I make listing a home on Second Door?

Every residence varies. Please take a look at the actual financials for these two properties in an neighborhood north of the river.

+ How do cancellations work?

Guests will receive a 50% refund up to one week prior to arrival, except fees.

+ How does it work if I want to stay in my home?

Owner stays are allowed. You will be billed the cleaning expense.

+ Can I set any rules, or does Second Door have their own rules?

Second Door has a set of best practices but we can customize your home and the rules as you wish.

+ How does cleaning the home work?

Second Door handles all pre and post stay cleanings.

+ Can I clean my own home?

Second Door will do all the cleanings to make sure all cleanings are up to our standards.

+ Will Second Door manage my basement if I live upstairs?

Second Door only hosts entire residence listings.

+ How do you figure out the rental rate per night?

We monitor availability in Kansas City daily. Our job is to get you the max rate each night your home is available.
